About FOCUS Connect
Macarthur Diversity Services Initiative Ltd, trading as FOCUS Connect, is an ACNC-registered large not-for-profit charity based in Campbelltown, NSW.
We provide care, support and community-based services to people who are disadvantaged or marginalised across children, youth, family and aged care programs through our Community Services and non-residential Aged Care business units.
Our services have traditionally focused on the Macarthur region, with strong experience supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities. As part of our strategic growth, FOCUS Connect is expanding its Aged Care services into Fairfield and Northern Sydney, strengthening community impact and long-term sustainability.
About the Opportunity
FOCUS Connect is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced professionals to join the Board of Directors in a voluntary capacity.
We are particularly interested in individuals who bring experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Aged care or community sector leadership
- Governance and strategic oversight
- Marketing, brand, growth or community engagement
- Accounting, finance or broader business expertise
- Board Directors contribute to the governance, strategic direction and sustainability of the organisation in accordance with the Corporations Act 2001 and the organisation’s Constitution.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will be expected to:
- Actively participate in Board meetings and the annual Strategy Workshop
- Contribute to Board leadership aligned to your expertise
- Provide constructive strategic insight, oversight and stewardship
- Support organisational impact, growth and sustainability
- Contribute to effective governance and informed decision-making
Preferred Skills and Experience
Aged Care / Clinical / Sector Experience
- Knowledge of the Australian aged care sector, including regulatory, clinical and commercial environments
- Experience in clinical governance, service quality or risk oversight
- Understanding of reform, sustainability and consumer-directed care
Community Sector Experience
- Knowledge of the Australian community services sector, including funding models and service delivery environments
Marketing / Growth
- Experience in brand strategy, communications and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to support visibility, community reach and market positioning
- Insight into customer experience, digital engagement or partnership development
Governance & Board Capability
- Understanding of the legal, ethical and fiduciary responsibilities of Board Directors
- Ability to interpret financial and organisational performance reports
- Experience contributing to strategy, risk oversight and organisational sustainability
- Awareness of Federal and State legislative requirements relevant to not-for-profit organisations
Accounting and Business Acumen
- Financial accounting, budgeting or broader commercial experience

You are a strategic and community-minded professional who wants to make a meaningful contribution through Board service.
You will ideally bring strong professional judgement, an understanding of governance responsibilities, and a commitment to helping an inclusive not-for-profit organisation grow sustainably and serve its communities well.

Requirements
Prior to appointment, successful candidates must complete:
- National Police Check
- Bankruptcy and National Insolvency checks
- Eligibility to meet ASIC requirements for a Director
