Language Shouldn't Be a Barrier to Belonging
It can be hard to watch a parent become quieter or more withdrawn, especially when language or cultural differences make mainstream community groups feel unfamiliar or uncomfortable.
Your parent deserves a community where they don't have to explain themselves, translate, or adjust; they just belong.
Cooking, gardening, arts & craft, gentle movement
Transport Support
Available for eligible participants, so getting there isn't a barrier
A Community That Speaks Their Language Literally
Our Cultural & Language Groups are run by people who share the same background, language and traditions as your parent. Every session includes cultural celebrations, shared meals, and the chance to build real friendships with people who understand their story.
Groups run entirely in your parent's own language
Cultural celebrations, traditions and shared meals included
Monthly outings tailored to each cultural group
Led by staff and peers from the same community
We Understand What You're Juggling
They don't speak much English.
That's exactly what these groups are for, every session is run in your parent's own language.
I worry they'll feel out of place.
Our Cultural & Language Groups are built around shared background and tradition, so your parent is surrounded by people who understand their culture from day one.
I don't have time to manage all of this.
Our friendly team handles the details. We'll explain funding options, arrange transport where available, and guide you and your parent through every step.
I'm not sure what it will cost.
Many seniors are eligible for CHSP or Support at Home funding, which can significantly reduce costs. You can also self-fund. Our team can talk you through current pricing so there are no surprises. We'll help you understand what applies to your parent's situation.

Understanding the Cost
Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)
CHSP Social Support Group funding helps eligible older people remain socially connected and active within their community. Client contributions are outlined in our Social Groups Calendar. Some outings and special events may incur additional ticket or meal costs.
Support at Home
Support at Home participants may access Social Groups in accordance with their Support at Home Service Agreement.
Self-Funded Attendance
Prefer to pay privately? Self-funded attendance is also available for those without government funding. Contact our friendly team for current pricing.
Already Receiving Support From Another Provider?
You can still choose to join a FOCUS Connect Senior Social Group. If your parent is already supported by another provider, our friendly team can explain the available options and help you access our Social Groups.
Introductory offer: $5.00 client contribution for the first two sessions of a Weekly Community, Interest & Hobby Group or Social Shopping Trip, for eligible CHSP-funded clients joining in August or September 2026. Existing FOCUS Connect Social Group members may also access the offer, provided they continue attending their existing Social Group. Includes the centre-based Multicultural Group only. Excludes all Multicultural Group outings.
Not sure which option applies to your parent? Our team can talk you through it — no obligation.
