Support for Migrants in Campbelltown: How FOCUS Connect Helps You Settle, Connect, and Thrive
FOCUS Connect has proudly supported migrants and refugees since 1983, when we first operated under the Liverpool Migrant Resource Centre. Over the decades, our organisation has evolved through names like Campbelltown Migrant Services Association, Macarthur Migrant Resource Centre, and Macarthur Diversity Services Inc. (MDSI), but our mission has remained the same:
To support, empower, and uplift multicultural communities.
In 2019, we became known as FOCUS Connect, but our commitment remains unchanged. We continue to serve multicultural families, individuals, and seniors across Campbelltown and beyond with compassion, respect, and connection.
Helping You Settle, Connect, and Thrive
Migrating to Australia brings both excitement and uncertainty. Many newly arrived migrants face challenges such as navigating unfamiliar systems, language barriers, financial stress, and social isolation.
That’s why FOCUS Connect’s Community Support services are designed to meet migrants where they are—providing practical support, culturally safe care, and meaningful ways to connect with others in your new community.
Who Do We Support?
We welcome people from all cultural and migration backgrounds, including:
- Newly arrived migrants and refugees
- Humanitarian entrants and asylum seekers
- Families with young children adjusting to life in Australia
- Migrant seniors seeking support and community connection
- CALD individuals who may not be linked with formal support services

What Support Is Available?
Our community support for migrants includes practical programs and personalised assistance to help you settle and grow.
Family and Individual Case Management
We offer one-on-one support for challenges such as housing, financial stress, health access, or adjusting to life in Australia. Our caseworkers listen, advocate, and connect you to services in your language wherever possible.
Supported Playgroups and Early Learning
Our playgroups offer safe, welcoming spaces for young children and a chance for migrant parents to connect, share experiences, and learn about parenting in the Australian context.
Parenting Workshops
Adjusting to a new parenting culture can be confusing. Our culturally tailored workshops help you strengthen family relationships, understand child development, and build confidence.
No Interest Loans (NILs)
Eligible migrant families can apply for No-Interest Loans (NILs) to purchase essential items or cover costs like car repairs, medical needs, or education-related expenses without added financial stress.
Emergency Relief and Financial Assistance (ER)
If you’re in crisis, we can help with emergency food support, utilities assistance, or connections to urgent services. This is especially valuable for newly arrived individuals without stable income.
